How does direct debit work?

Residential natural gas

Direct debit is the easy, set-and-forget way to pay your Kleenheat bills on time. Set up your monthly instalment or quarterly payments and we’ll deduct the amount owed from your nominated bank account or credit card when your bill becomes due.

For customers who choose our Monthly Energiser or Monthly Smart Saver plans, a direct debit is automatically set up for easy payment on the day of the month you’d prefer.

Customers on our Standard Form Contract can also request direct debit, with the amount owing deducted from the preferred account on your quarterly bill’s due date. You’ll still receive an invoice to see the amount and date of payment in advance.

What if a payment fails?

This can happen from time to time, for instance if your bank details aren’t updated or your credit card expires. If there’s ever an issue with a direct debit payment, we’ll let you know via email or SMS so you can pay the amount owing another way. If there’s a problem, we recommend you login at My Account to check your direct debit details are correct.

Please note: Unfortunately, some banks charge a $10 fee for direct debit rejections and this fee will need to be added to your bill. Late fees will apply if your account isn’t paid by another payment method within three (3) days of the payment due date and you haven’t confirmed a payment extension with Kleenheat.

If you still feel like you need a hand with direct debit payments, call us on 13 21 80.

Residential LPG

LPG customers are welcome to request direct debit payments and we’ll deduct the amounts owing from your preferred account when each bill is due. You’ll still receive a receipt for your records.
