Homegrown goodness with Caroline Taylor | Kleenheat Kitchen
Caroline Taylor strives to support local producers, appreciate the effort of farmers and celebrate how lucky we are.
We met with Caroline not long ago to learn about her passion for local produce and the energy she has for supporting and celebrating local produce, farmers and business owners.
As Executive Chef of Taylor’s Art and Coffee House, Caroline is Swan Valley-born and bred and rightly proud of the region in which she grew up.
Calling the Swan Valley home means Caroline has become increasingly familiar with the local farmers and producers in the area and considers many of them good friends and like family.
Her love of WA was instilled at a young age when she and her family would travel by road, exploring Western Australia on school holidays or when they had time. They’d camp or stay on stations, where Caroline recalls learning about animals and how to prepare meals over a camp fire.
She’s always loved spending time in the kitchen with her mum and looks back fondly on enjoying proper sit down family dinners where everyone chatted and enjoyed each others’ company.
In Caroline’s late teens, her family home became Taylor’s Art and Coffee House. As she became more invested in the kitchen, her connections with local providers grew – relationships that continue with farmers, grocers, fishmongers and butchers – driving her to champion their produce and shine a light on the region’s finest food offerings at every opportunity.
When she’s not in the cafe’s kitchen, you’ll find Caroline consulting to other chefs and eateries and sharing her passion for food with her young son.
Enjoy a taste of home grown goodness from Caroline Taylor’s restaurant and cafe Taylor’s Art & Coffee House and keep supporting local businesses.
