Are you prepared this bushfire season?

KH-Houses-713

It’s bushfire season and being prepared is essential to avoid the threat it can pose on you and your family.

Whether you live bushland, in the regional or metropolitan area, it’s vital to understand the risks so you can prepare your home and develop a survival plan so you know what to do when a bushfire starts. Bushland doesn’t just refer to trees and forest because it’s also areas of scrub and grassland.

Unfortunately, bushfires are a part of Australian summer. In Western Australia, bushfire season generally runs between November and April in the South West, while in the North, it runs from June to late October.

Check out the links below for useful information, checklists, social media channels and websites how to keep safe and up-to-date on bushfire areas near you.
